“Omar Abdullah will be the Chief Minister,” Farooq Abdullah told reporters, responding to a question about the alliance’s CM candidate.
He added that the people’s verdict is a clear statement against the abrogation of Article 370. “The results show that the decisions made on August 5, 2019, are not acceptable to the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said. “I am deeply grateful to everyone who participated in the elections freely, and I thank God for the outcome.”
Farooq Abdullah, a former Union minister, emphasized that the newly elected government would have a significant responsibility to alleviate the hardships faced by the people. “We must address key issues such as unemployment, inflation, and the growing drug menace. Now, instead of an LG and his advisors, we will have 90 MLAs working for the people,” he concluded.
